Cleveland and Small-Town White County
Cleveland, the county seat, offers a quieter side of White County with a historic downtown square, locally owned businesses, restaurants and community events.
The Historic White County Courthouse Museum preserves local history inside the county’s restored historic courthouse, offering exhibits and artifacts connected to White County and Northeast Georgia.
Cleveland is also home to community events, local festivals, agricultural activities and the White County Farmers Market, where local growers, makers and producers come together seasonally.
The town provides an excellent starting point for exploring the surrounding mountains, farms and outdoor attractions.
Anna Ruby Falls
One of White County’s most famous natural attractions is Anna Ruby Falls.
Located in the Chattahoochee National Forest near Helen, Anna Ruby Falls is actually a pair of waterfalls formed where Curtis Creek and York Creek come together to create Smith Creek. The falls are reached by a scenic paved trail that follows Smith Creek through the forest.
The waterfall is one of the most visited natural attractions in North Georgia and is a popular stop for families, photographers, hikers and visitors exploring the Helen area.
